Posts 18, EQs and tape decks fell out of popularity starting in the late 80’s. Before this, many manufacturers had either a “processor loop” which had a pair of jumper connections that you removed and then wired in your EQ or they had a tape loop that was originally used to monitor your recording live, when using three head tape machines. If your receiver doesn’t have either of those and yours doesn’t look like it does the tape in and out doesn’t make the same signal loop that’s needed for an EQ to work. What you may be able to do is run the turntable into the EQ and then the EQ into the phono input. I say may because the signal from the turntable is very low and I’m not sure if the EQ will lower that signal even more, or introduce some strange noise. It may also interfere with the RIAA equalization that takes place in the phono preamp. Proceed with caution if you give it a try. Some EQs actually boost the output quite a bit which might not be good for the phono input. A possible better option would be to buy an external phono preamp. If you went this route, do not use the receiver’s phono input.
Are you sure that you want to delete this answer? Yes Sorry, something has gone wrong. You can connect 2 speakers to a single output of your receiver IF the speakers load does not go below what the receiver says it can handle. If the 2 speakers you are connecting each have an impedance of 4 ohms and you connect them in parallel plus to plus, minus to minus your receiver will see a load of 2 ohms.
Most receivers cannot handle that low of a load and are rated at ohms.
You can access a Multi Zone application in different ways with our receivers. Most receivers we manufacture are 7 channel amplifiers meaning you can power up to 7 speakers with the receiver. If you’re running a application, (5 speakers + a subwoofer) you would have 2 channels left over for use with a multi zone application.
This would add only 2. To advise on alternative strategies is a bit tricky as a I don’t know how you have your amps hooked up to the rest of your car system, and b I don’t know what your expectations are in terms of bass volume. From my point of view, if your system is hooked up correctly and working to its capacity, I would be quite satisfied with W of bass power inside a car.
But for all I know you might be a youngster wanting to build a ‘doof doof’ system that will annoy the hell out of anyone within a block’s radius of your car! Before spending any more money, you need to establish whether your kicker amp is delivering its full W before its overload trips. This is difficult to do without electronic instruments and knowledge.
You could take it to a car audio specialist, and they could probably check it for you pretty easily and maybe free if they thought you might be a potential customer for more equipment ;.

Jan 14, · You could buy a two-channel equalizer and hook your regular speakers up to one channel, and the subwoofer to the other channel And by doing that, you could cut the mids and highs off to the subwoofer while keeping the full range for the other speakers.

How do you hook-up or wire up one light with two on-off switches? For information on how to hook-up one light with two on-off switches, see the Related link “How to wire 3-way and 4-way switches, including wiring diagrams”, shown below. When using the correct size wire, there are severa…l possible configurations of power connection, lighting outlet, and the two 3-way switches. Power can come from the panel to one switch or the other, or to the light, whichever is convenient.
The light can be physically positioned between the switches or at the end of the two-switch series. Each configuration requires different handling of the hot, switched travelers, and neutral wires. In every case, there are runs that require three parallel conductors, whether for neutral, hot or travelers, not including any grounding wires.
A 3-wire cable is highly recommended for this application. If there are more than two switch locations , a 4-way switch goes between the 3-way switches to crossover the two travelers.

Real time support for data like RDS text, iPod navigation, etc. My finding was that the NAD GUI guides you through Audyssey automated speaker setup in a straightforward way, though with less graphical clarity that is, fewer illustrative onscreen diagrams and the like than I have seen in some other Audyssey implementations. Here are three important hints for best Audyssey results: Make sure you place the included calibration mic at ear level for a seated listener ideally by mounting the mic on a camera tripod that you can move from one listening seat to another.
Without a subwoofer output on the card, it is still possible to hook up a VTF or ULS subwoofer, since these subwoofers have stereo inputs. Use a splitter/adapter (one .
If you have speakers already connected to your stereo, fully disconnect them. Active crossover units are larger than passive ones and need to be mounted in a stable location, ideally near your amplifiers. Using the appropriate cables, wire your crossover into the receiver or preamp, with the wires coming out of the receiver going into the “in” terminals on the crossover. Depending on your receiver and your stereo system, you will probably be making this connection with RCA cables, but some crossovers will are set up to use speaker wire instead as detailed in Method 1 if your receiver doesn’t have RCA outputs.
Using the appropriate cables again, usually RCA or speaker wire for a home stereo system , connect the appropriate outputs to the appropriate amplifiers. If you don’t have a subwoofer, you’ll send your high frequency signal to your tweeter amp and low-frequency signal to your woofer amp. In this case, make sure your crossover is set to two-way mode.
There should be a switch that controls this. If you can’t locate it, check your instruction manual. Connect the left output of each frequency range to the left input of the coinciding amplifier and the right output of each frequency range to the right input of the coinciding amplifier. There are several ways to hook up a subwoofer to your system.

I’m not very much of an audiophile, but I’ve been happy with the system. I assume that there is a crossover of some type in the sub. If I were to use a different brand powered sub, could I run the cube speakers directly from the receiver without any severe affects to the sound? The BOSE satellite speakers are much to fragile to handle the output of anything other than the amplifier of the Bass Module. This is explicitly stated in the BOSE manual: Never connect the cube speaker arrays directly to a receiver output.

For those who enjoy stereo listening, Denon provides setting that lets you configure how the AVR-X W handles bass management when set to either 2-channel Direct or Stereo listening modes. You can, of course, leave the system in Auto, where it will use the existing speaker settings, or you can configure a Manual or custom setting that can change the speakers to Large, for example, or alter the subwoofer settings and mode to play through the mains plus sub, or just the subwoofer via the LFE channel.
I kept these settings off, choosing instead to utilize the settings on my projector also ISF-enabled to handle my day and night modes. If you had no other way to configure video tweaks, grabbing these controls will give you some flexibility, but in our opinion, video calibration should never be done in the AV receiver. Use these settings sparingly—or perhaps not at all.
